How I Seeded my SpamTrap

What is a “SpamTrap?” A spamtrap is simply an email address that is not in active use by a person, and is instead used to collect spam. The usual way to do this is once someone leaves a company, to use their old email address. I do that at work (after I unsubscribe the address […]

Address in a graphic is legal?

I wonder if a spammer putting their physical address in a graphic is legal, according to CAN-SPAM. The losers at TimeSavers are putting their mailing address as a graphic image, instead of as text.

More LifeSavers, or LifeSavers direct

More garbage from the losers at LifeSavers direct, now called TimeSavers Direct. I love how they don’t believe that the CAN-SPAM law applies to them. Oh yeah, they are spammers, and spammers don’t have any decency in the first place, that’s why they steal. Why should we (or Congress) expect them to follow the rules? […]

University of Phoenix is desparate

I just got some junk mail from the University of Phoenix. It was sent to me at work, with one the web sites I manage as the company name on the address label. Wow, I am so excited! I can now get my Bachelor’s degree. Wow! I guess my Masters Degree doesn’t count for anything. […]

Why RR.com is a spammer

Because they send out “helpful” notices to people who send their customers viruses via email. So, their mail server is intelligent enough to realize that someone has sent a virus to a customer? Fine, that’s good customer service. But then they email the “From:” address letting the “sender” know that they have sent a virus. […]

LifeSavers, or LifeSavers Direct

I am blocking these domain names and IP addresses (listed out indivually so they may show up in web searches): azdct.com 64.70.17.130 64.70.17.131 64.70.17.132 64.70.17.133 64.70.17.134 64.70.17.135 64.70.17.136 64.70.17.137 64.70.17.138 64.70.17.139 64.70.17.140 64.70.17.141 64.70.17.142 lifesrd.com leightsvrs.com lifesaversdir4u.com livsvdt.com livrsdt.com lifesaversdirect.com fyispcls.com fyuscls.com 66.54.64 66.54.65 66.54.66 66.54.67 66.54.68 66.54.69 66.54.70 66.54.71 66.54.72 66.54.73 66.54.74 66.54.75 66.54.76 […]

Six more Applications

I just prepared six more applications against junk mailers, mostly local. It is quite annoying that all commercial mailers do not include a return mailing address. I do a google search, but some businesses can’t be found online. So I call the phone number given, and they don’t have any useful info on there, they […]

ValPak

I just realized my Form 1500 application for Valpak got ignored by the USPS as well. Luckily, their web site has an opt-out form: ValPak Opt-Out. And then I discovered as I was filling in the opt-out form, the USPS gave me someone else’s mail! That must be against the law! I hope no one […]

Comcast

Isn’t it amazing that of the five (5!) Applications for Prohibitory Order that I’ve filed against Comcast Cable, that none of them have even been acknowledged by the USPS? I guess when I file the next one, I need to send it with a Return Receipt requested, so I will know that the Processing Center […]

AT&T and Slamming

AT&T slammed me a few months ago. I made the huge mistake of giving them my street address when I called their slamming resolution center. I am now gettings tons of junk mail addressed to me as a “former AT&T customer.” Now I know if I ever get slammed, don’t give my mailing address to […]
